NELSON 700
The NELSON 700 is NELSON's top-of-the-line model. The waterer's housing is made of stainless steel. It is available in four mounting options, ensuring the NELSON 700 fits perfectly in any location. You can choose between two housing diameters; the stainless steel drinking bowl holds approximately 3 or 4 liters, depending on the housing size. The trough features an integrated thermostat, making it frost-proof down to -30°C. Fresh water automatically replenishes the bowl as the water level decreases.
Cleaning
For cleaning, the automatic water refill can be switched off with a single movement. The stainless steel drinking bowl can be removed and cleaned, for example, in the dishwasher.

Function of the waterer
The NELSON uses the principle of a scale:
- The animal drinks, the water level in the bowl drops, and the weight in the bowl decreases.
- The bowl tilts slightly to one side, the valve opens, and fresh water flows into the bowl.
- Once the set water level is reached, the bowl tilts back and the valve closes.
Legal requirement
In a nutshell:
The water flows into a basin from a certain height, so that it is impossible for water from the basin to flow back into the inflow.
Free water outlet
The NELSON-700 drinking trough comes standard with a "free outlet," meaning the required drinking water protection device is integrated directly into the trough.
This saves you the purchase costs of a separate backflow preventer and minimizes maintenance, as you eliminate the need for another piece of equipment in your barn's water supply system.
What does my horse actually drink?
Unusual water consumption can be an early indicator that a horse is unwell. Regular monitoring of water intake allows for timely intervention to promote recovery, leading to healthier animals in the long run and greater peace of mind.
NELSON water consumtion meter
Keep a close eye on your animals' water consumption at all times. The optional NELSON consumtion meter monitors your animals' water consumption and displays it on the external LCD screen.
